Jana Siân Blume was born in Germany and has been active as a dancer, choreographer, director, editor, and stage manager
in Netherlands, Norway, Spain and Germany.
Jana Siân is a conceptual artist whose main form of expression is movement, cross-disciplinary translated into stage, film, and performance.
In 2013, she successfully completed her Bachelor of Art in Professional Dance at Palucca University in Dresden and since then she has worked as a dancer and choreographer at various theatres and stages, mainly abroad.
She has developed an artistic, choreographic practice that investigates the relationship between body and space through concepts of androgyny and animalistic patterns.
Her movement vocabulary drives by physical impulses, improvisation, repetition, and character development.
In addition she wrote and directed short movies, danced and choreographed for a music videos, commercials and stage performances and is currently developing in directing for film and theatre.
In Spring 2022 she graduated at Macromedia Hochschule in the field of Film and Television, specialised in directing. Since then she has found a language by working on social-critical and political subjects and has given presentations at Film Universities about “Intimacy on Camera” and “Gender & Diversity” in Project Management.
In 2023, Blume worked as Stage Manager at Mein Schiff Flotte and managed the Entertainment Department on Board. She keeps developing her skills in that field in theatres ashore.
Since 2024 she is the Head of Department in Stage Management at Theater des Westens, Berlin.
